Ranunculus Flowers Oil Painting – Original Floral Impasto Art by Olga Nikitina

Bring colour, warmth, and artistic expression into your home with this vibrant original ranunculus flower oil painting by Olga Nikitina. Featuring a lush bouquet of pink, magenta, purple, and blue ranunculus flowers arranged in a striking deep blue vase, this contemporary floral artwork celebrates the delicate beauty of these layered blooms through bold colours, rich textures, and expressive palette knife strokes.

The composition combines soft pastel pinks and creamy whites with brilliant cobalt blue, vivid magenta, and deep violet. Fresh green leaves weave between the blossoms, creating contrast and movement, while the warm golden-yellow tabletop adds a sunny glow to the scene. The softly coloured background, painted in shades of lavender, peach, and pale blue, creates an airy atmosphere that allows the vivid bouquet to take centre stage.

Expressive Impasto and Palette Knife Technique

Created using the impasto technique, this painting features thick layers of oil paint applied with a palette knife. The raised paint gives each ranunculus flower a sculptural quality, emphasizing its characteristic layers of delicate, overlapping petals. Rather than focusing on precise botanical details, Olga captures the beauty of the bouquet through expressive shapes, spontaneous strokes, and vibrant colour combinations.

The brilliant blue blossoms and vase create a strong visual anchor, balanced by the romantic pink and purple flowers. Creamy highlights bring light to the petals, while rich green foliage adds depth and freshness. The textured surface catches the light, revealing the dimensional quality of the oil paint and giving the artwork a lively, contemporary character.
