Description
Fish in Pink Coral – Original Underwater Fish Painting
Created underwater at a depth of 11.5 metes, Fish in Pink Coral is an original painting born from a direct encounter with the underwater world. rUnlike paintings inspired by photographs or memories of the ocean, this artwork was created while immersed in the marine environment itself, surrounded by the very world it portrays.
As a scuba diving instructor and underwater artist, I have always been fascinated by the possibility of combining two of my greatest passions: diving and painting. Being underwater changes the way we experience color, light, movement, and space. Every dive offers an opportunity to observe marine animals in their natural habitat, discover their behavior, and experience the extraordinary atmosphere of the underwater world firsthand.

For this painting, I wanted to capture the feeling of being surrounded by marine life, watching fish move freely among coral formations. The composition reflects the ever-changing underwater environment, where sunlight filters through the water, colors transform with depth, and fish appear and disappear among the reef.
The painting features a lively school of fish swimming through an expressive coral landscape. Shades of dusty pink, coral, lavender, and warm rose contrast with layers of turquoise, emerald, and deep ocean blue. Rather than aiming for a precise scientific representation, I wanted to translate the sensation of this underwater encounter into color, movement, and texture.

Creating art underwater presents a completely different experience from working in a studio. The surrounding water, limited time, changing light, and movement of the marine environment become part of the creative process. This direct connection with nature gives underwater paintings a unique character and makes each work a record of an extraordinary artistic experience.
Fish in Pink Coral is more than a marine-life painting; it is a personal exploration of the relationship between art and the ocean. It represents a moment when the boundary between artist, environment, and subject disappears, allowing the painting to emerge from the underwater world itself.
An original artwork for collectors interested in contemporary marine art, underwater painting, coral reef ecosystems, and the unique relationship between human creativity and the natural world.
